GINGERBREAD was established in 1981 in a beautiful gingerbread house. Axelle Liautaud, a designer trained in Paris, using her exceptional eye and her experience as a collector created a vibrant show case for the most creative and talented Artist and craftsmen. It quickly became a favorite shopping place for the bohemian chic crowd that visited Haiti as well as Haitian collectors.

Soon Gingerbread started wholesaling to stores all over the Caribbean and museum stores in the United States.

Tatiana Mora Liautaud, Axelle’s niece has join Gingerbread, and this dynamic team is now working together to offer an even better version of the same recipe.

We are now offering the incredible selection of Haitian Art and crafts that made us famous, on our website. Our craft products are created in a collaborative effort between us and individuals or small groups of Artisans. The result is an exquisite collection often using recycled materials from Haiti, hand crafted one by one.

The Art we offer is selected from old masters, contemporary and emerging artists, with the same care we take when choosing our own. We work with the utmost respect for our people and the environment. HAITI we love you!
